About Grüezi Bag

Passion-driven development in harmony with nature

For over 35 years, product developer and founder Markus Wiesböck has been immersed in the world of sleeping bags.

Over this time, he has refined his products down to the smallest detail. Starting with the best raw materials he develops his products with the full product lifecycle in mind, ensuring that there is as little impact on the environment as possible.

Grüezi Bag was founded by Markus in 2016 with the aim of providing the perfect sleeping bag. Today Grüezi Bag is known for their unique and innovative climate-balancing insultation material that provides excellent sleeping comfort for optimal regeneration and increased performance.

Setting a new standard in insultation and comfort

Grüezi Bag’s DownWool sleeping bags and functional insulation set a new standard in insulation and comfort by combining 70% down with 30% wool. This unique combination helps bind moisture, allowing the down to stay dry and fluffy so it retains its insulating power.  The wool component also adds antibacterial, odor-neutralising and moisture-regulating properties that will keep you coming back for more.

Insulation for optimal regeneration and increased performance

At temperatures above freezing, the air humidity inside the sleeping bag is trapped within the insulation.

Grüezi bag® has developed a special process where wool is introduced into the core of the down to solve this issue.

The wool absorbs moisture from the down and transports it outward, where it is released. This makes the down less susceptible to moisture, all without the use of chemicals. Additionally, the wool regulates the sleeping climate inside the sleeping bag by storing and releasing moisture.

Wool acts like a natural air conditioner. When it‘s too cold, wool extracts moisture from the sleeping bag to create a dry and warm environment. In warmer temperatures, wool releases moisture to produce a cooling effect. This way, wool continuously strives to regulate the temperature to a comfortable level.

The Downwool® Hybrid technology is an innovative solution to the problem of moisture regulation in sleeping bags at temperatures below freezing.

In such conditions, moisture from inside the sleeping bag rises through the insulation and condenses on the cooler outer shell. This can cause the down to become damp and lose its insulating properties.

The Downwool® Hybrid technology solves this issue by placing a layer of wool over the down, under the outer shell of the sleeping bag. This wool draws moisture away from the down and releases it gradually to the outside environment.

As a result, the down stays dry and retains its insulation capability. Additionally, this wool can help optimize the sleeping climate inside the sleeping bag by regulating moisture and providing a comfortable microclimate.
